Curt attended the University of Minnesota from 1951-1955. He worked for Honeywell and then Ray Goodwin Company out of Omaha. In 1969, Curt was approached by Pat Hart, who represented McQuay. Curt had Carnes and Cambridge Filters, and they joined forces and started the Hart-Hammer Division of Schwab-Vollhaber.  In 1985 Hart-Hammer split from Schwab-Vollhaber and became Hart-Hammer, Inc.  Curt enjoyed his friendships in the business and his time in the Iowa Chapter of ASHRAE.
