Joe Proctor was born on March 30, 1949, and graduated from Dowling High School. He was an accomplished athlete, and went on to play football at the University of North Dakota. He graduated from UND in 1971.
He then joined Proctor Mechanical, which was founded in 1932 by his grandfather, Earl Proctor. Joe later served as president of the company. In addition to ASHRAE, he was involved in many organizations including Mensa, the National Geographic Society, and Rotary Club, to name just a few. He enjoyed various activities such as golfing, cycling, reading, writing poetry, and fishing – he even received the Canadian Master Angler Award for “fishing excellence”.
Joe Proctor passed away on January 10, 2014, and will be missed by his family, friends, and colleagues.
