Neil Hanson was born on November 22, 1929 in Duluth, MN. He graduated from the University of Minnesota, where he studied Business as well as Engineering. According to his obituary, he “pioneered the development of energy saving HVAC designs and received recognition from the US Dept of Energy for contribution to our nation’s energy efficiency.” He passed away on February 2, 2011 in Indianola, IA.
