ASHRAE Guideline 36, High-Performance Sequences of Operation for HVAC Systems, was created to develop and maintain best-in-class standardized HVAC control sequences. This guideline is all about the concept of “less is more.” It allows engineers to reduce engineering time by adapting standard sequences already proven to perform. It minimizes programming and commissioning time for contractors. ASHRAE Guideline 36 reduces energy consumption, cost, and system downtime with more resilient systems, control sequence compliance, and diagnostic software. The guideline also promotes communication between specifiers, contractors, and operators by creating a language of common terms.

Alan Feirer of Group Dynamic will be presenting on Team Communications.

Communication is the one skill we use every day, in every environment, and in every situation. Yet, we’ve all experienced the fallouts of bad communication or the lack of communication. Alan will help us identify three common obstacles to effective communication. Once we are aware of them, we can take constructive steps to overcome them. These obstacles are: Maturity in the moment, personality styles and trait differences, and the tendency to be vague and make attitude assumptions.

Alan Feirer is a leadership trainer, Everything DiSC® Authorized Partner, Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team™ Authorized Partner, organizational development consultant, and author of The Group Dynamic Field Guide: 51 Ideas You Can Use Today.
